It was pouring rain, not men, dahlings, during that wet night launch of “Colour Your Life,” to introduce the Colours Collection of trendy outfits by designer Emy Cruz.
The happening, which was organized by TV’s fast-talker Ferdie Salvador and Czarina Ledesma, with events master and marketing whiz Jojie Dingcong as consultant, was for the young, hip, sassy, sexy, hot and beautiful, who were there to celebrate the Colours lifestyle, dahlings, with wine, food, music and the delicious faces that brought excitement to this exclusive happening at Cav Wine and Café at Bonifacio High Street.
The dashing Marc Nelson hosted the short program, which was the perky prelude to the entry of models wearing the 70-piece garment collection, but not before gorgeous actress-TV host Angel Aquino, the epitome of charm, grace and undeniable dignity, radiating the aura of a true Colours woman, “successful, stylish and confident,” made her grand, dazzling entrance, dahlings, leading a new breed of females unafraid and unapologetic about their success.
Talented designer Emy Cruz showed her exquisite and glamorous Colours fashion collection of four colors—crimson, amber, azul and blush—in floor-length gowns or cocktail numbers, palanggas.
Emy’s collection further featured a whole line of accessories that are certain to make a lasting statement.
Summit Publishing’s lady boss Liza Gokongwei was visibly impressed watching the collection from the sidelines, together with some of Manille’s trés visible beautiful faces like vivacious eye-catcher Cheska Garcia, happily draped on the arm of her cager-hubby Doug Kramer.
Vina Morales was in top form when she sauntered inside the venue. Adorable Pops Fernandez was every inch the singing diva that she is in her elegant get-up, while soon-to-wed TV host Pia Guanio and young entrepreneur and gorgeous head-turner Cristalle Belo Henares joined the chosen guest list.
After all, palanggas, life is truly colorific.
Tea and fashion
The last of those afternoon, must-go chi-chi high tea happenings with the bubbly thrown in to get an early buzz before sitting back and enjoying the last of Fashion Watch 2011 season two weeks ago was at the lobby of Shangri-La Makati Hotel, and had us all excited to see the latest collections of acclaimed designers Ivar Aseron and Joey Samson, dahlings.
Acknowledged as an avant-garde designer, Ivar Aseron has a style all his own, with his collection simply called “Papillon” (French for butterfly), dahlings. His designs were awesome, with colors and patterns of butterfly wings complementing the softness and movement of his materials.
Aseron said: “I usually use gray, white, black. Now there are magentas and plums, yet I don’t want to veer away from what I’ve been known for, going a step ahead of the present.”
Enter Joey Samson, who said: “Wearability is very important—you can never be too edgy or avant garde.” Taking his inspiration from the Japanese word “Mitate,” it’s “a new way of seeing or viewing things, in a different light,” he explained.
The interesting part was, his collection pieces are really meant for men, but worn by women. Hey, not bad, huh? The sexiness was totally there because of the bare backs and short shorts, a collection meant for people who are willing to experiment more.
Standouts in the fashionable crowd were the two gorgeously stunning beauties of the awesome, successful TV series “Magkaribal,” Gretchen Barretto and Angel Locsin, who had more eyes on them than on the collection. Oops!
Check out “Fashion Watch” 2011 starting again on Sept. 1, at the same venue, 3-6 p.m. High tea is served at P810+.
“Fashion Watch” is presented by Olay, Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Preview Magazine, Starworld and Stylebible.ph, with major sponsors BMW and Metro Pacific Investments.
