Foodies all over the metro, prepare yourselves for one exciting food trip coming to Rockwell this September.
Power Plant Mall, Our Awesome Planet, and San Miguel Lifestyle Brews present Rockwell’s 2nd Ultimate Taste Test to be held at the Rockwell Tent on Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Now on its 10th year, this event provides food enthusiasts all over the metro an opportunity to experience being a food critic for a day.
Watch out for participating restos and outlets like New Zealand Natural Ice Cream, Everyday Mom, Moshi Moshi, Hillside Ranch, Chow Fun by Modern Chinese Bistro, and other home-based food businesses, plus some of Power Plant Mall’s restaurants.
With a ticket, foodies would be provided a wristband and a passport to enjoy a one-time sampling from all the participating food merchants. In line with this, foodies get to rate the product on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest.
The Top 10 highest rating food merchants will be featured in Our Awesome Planet and will get prizes from Power Plant Mall.

Freelance writers to hold general assembly
The Freelance Writers’ Guild of the Philippines (FWGP) will hold its second general assembly on Sept. 16., 6 p.m., at the University Hotel in UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The members will be given an overview of the local freelance writing landscape by seasoned freelance writers, representatives of client companies and select FWGP members.
Guest speakers are Celine Roque, Sharon de Dios, Noemi Pamintuan-Jara and Bert Sulat; client speakers are Ces Rodriguez of Yahoo.ph, Camsy Ocumen of freelancer.ph and Yasmin Arquiza of GMANews.TV; panel members are Beverly Siy, Stephanie Gonzaga and Dino Manrique.
Facilitators who will present reports include: education, Ime Morales; marketing and resource mobilization, Claire Agbayani; website and media, Rom Factolerin and Raymond Dimayuga; membership, Teena Estrada; finance and ethics, Naomi Tupas.
Results of the survey on rates for freelance writers which was conducted among FWGP members will also be revealed.

Floral design seminar
Blooming art, a floral art seminar and demo on the latest trends in floral designing for weddings, funerals, special events and everyday arrangements, will be held Sept. 15 at the Legend Villas, 60 Pioneer and Madison Streets, Mandaluyong, 1-5 p.m. Seminar is sponsored by Oasis Floral Products, FloraLife and Jasam Floral Sundries.
Among the topics to be discussed are new bridal trends, designing an outdoor theme in an indoor setting, latest funeral arrangements, and cost-cutting techniques.
Eunice Teo Khee Choo will conduct the seminar-workshop. She’s the chief instructor and designer of Antrol Flower Designing Center, a floral business and training school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she has been teaching since 1994.
