Not wearing face masks in Metro Manila may merit serious penalties soon | Lifestyle.INQ

The national government and Metro Manila mayors are currently working on a resolution to issue a “common ordinance” on wearing face masks in public. In his latest press briefing, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the proposal to institutionalize existing policies on wearing face masks gained traction during their last Cabinet meeting.

Although he stressed that health protocols must be enforced thoroughly, Roque noted that the ordinance on wearing face masks will be implemented based on human experience. People who are removing their face masks to eat or drink only need to explain to the authorities if questioned.

Wala naman pong problema yun ‘pag na-explain,” he added.
