Forget Yakult soju. Here are other drinks you can make with this probiotic treat | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

This iconic probiotic drink from our childhood has been taking over the beverage scene lately, and it’s not really hard to see why. It’s delicious and improves digestion, giving you an immunity boost against various diseases (thank you, billions of beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain!)

Its numerous benefits have convinced many people to incorporate it into their daily diets. It has also been reimagined as a flavor for different kinds of desserts such as cheesecakes and ice creams. Some of you, however, may be looking for a different way of enjoying this probiotic drink while still somehow sticking to its original form.

Aside from the already popular soju yakult, which you can easily make by mixing yakult with soju and soda water, here are some of our Yakult-mixed drink suggestions.

Yakult + lemonade + chia seeds

Put a twist in your regular lemonade by adding Yakult and chia seeds to the mix.

Yakult + milk + orange juice

Drop a big block of ice into a glass cup filled with milk, Yakult and orange juice for a creamy drink.

Yakult + lime green tea

It’s tea time, titas and you can definitely enjoy Yakult with your favorite drink by dipping a green tea bag into a combination of the probiotic drink, lime and a bit of honey.

Yakult + breakfast smoothie

Simply blend frozen strawberry, banana, apple, Yakult and milk together for a filling smoothie.

Yakult + citrus soda water + orange juice

Looking for a substitute to your piña colada or Shirley Temple? Try making this delicious and refreshing mocktail combination that has the right amount of citrus flavors, creaminess and fizz.

Yakult + milk tea

Of course, the milk tea craze found a way to extend to the Yakult trend as well. Put Yakult and milk tea together (and don’t forget the tapioca pearls!) for a cool new “flavor”. Those with lactose intolerance may also use this as a substitute for regular milk teas.
