BOTTLE wrap

A recent trip to Japan has inspired us to show you our version of furoshiki, or the traditional art of wrapping clothes, gifts or goods. You can use any cloth like cotton, silk, nylon or rayon. It can be as colorful as you want it to be. It’s especially practical, instead of the usual paper or plastic.

These scarves of fabric are easy and lightweight enough to carry in your handbag, ready to use, anytime, anywhere.

Wine bottle wrap or bag

This is perfect as a gift or just to carry a bottle of wine.

You will need a large square scarf or shawl.

1. Spread the scarf/cloth out.

2. Center your bottle of wine on the cloth.

3. Tie two opposite corners at the top of the wine bottle with a single knot.

4. Twist the remaining ends after the knot and tie in a square knot at the ends as well. Pull the knots tight.

5. Bring the remaining two ends of the scarf around the bottle and wrap it.

6. Tie a square knot at the center of bottle.

Tip: A colorful fabric is more eye-catching and festive.

A vintage scarf can add to the value of your gift!

For those unpredictable rainy days, here’s a great way to protect precious purses from the elements. We recommend using a waterproof nylon fabric.

1. Center handbag on the cloth parallel to edges.

2. Bring corners B and C through the handles of the bag. Do the same for corners A and D.

3. Tie B and C  into a square knot. Do the same to A and  D.

All-purpose drawstring bag

ALL-PURPOSE bag

This is useful for trips to the grocery, or, if using a more elaborate fabric, as an evening bag.

1. Tie corners A and D in a single knot. Do the same for corners B and C.

2. Tie corners D and C together in a square knot. Do the same with corners A and B. These will be your handles.

3. Pull handles to adjust bag opening.
