Debutante’s ball and cotillon
She was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where her parents had met. She was blessed with beauty, brains, breeding and bucks during her growing-up days in Cosmo Manille, blooming into the stunningly gorgeous woman who was introduced to society during her debut ball, palanggas.
Debutante Sarah Justine Malli Fuerte’s parents are popular Ilonggo businessman Jungi Fuerte and Mindanao princess Putli Jahllia Malli-Fuerte, who left no stone unturned for their only daughter’s coming-out happening at the Grand Ballroom of Manille’s posh Sofitel.
The ballroom was transformed into an Arabic-Bollywood-themed glamour place.
Sarah Justine was the dazzling star of Bollywood, wearing a feathered stunner by designer Joel Escobar. Her escort was Mark San Juan, and when the two entered the ballroom, there was a burst of applause and cheers.
Although the weather that day was in a foul mood, all 400 or so invitees breezed into the ballroom with elegance.
Providing great entertainment were the multi-awarded Annie Sartorio-Divinagracia Dancers, who were jetted in from bustling Iloilo by Jungi, exclusively for his daughter’s once-in-a-lifetime night, dahlings!
Naturellement, what’s a debut without a cotillion? So, as expected, palanggas, a grand one was performed for our Princess of the Day by her classmates at Southville Foreign University. Surprising back her classmates, Sarah Justine performed a piano solo. Later, they let their hair down on the dance floor, palanggas.
Sarah said she had enrolled at Southville Foreign University because “it has a wonderful curriculum that will allow me to receive a UK diploma from here in the Philippines and attain a master’s degree within four years.” She said she would continue her studies in the US and expressed thanks that God has given her a lot of blessings.
Cheers, palangga!
