You only need one minute to make these face masks | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

The facial mask, if you don’t know yet, is the most satisfying product to put on your face. It keeps skin hydrated and nourishes it with the nutrients that it needs. More than its benefits to the skin, face masks provide pure bliss and relaxation. During those 10 minutes or so, your face and mind are at its most peaceful state. That’s why I always look forward to my masking days.

Facial masks come in a wide array of consistencies and concentrations. Different kinds of facial masks contain various ingredients that target specific skin problems. I, for example, use three types of face masks: alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy acids mask, hydrating sheet mask, and the bentonite clay mask, which I discovered through Preen.

But you don’t really need to look too far just to keep your skin looking and feeling good. Here are three all-natural face masks that you can make in a minute and slather on your face when your skin is dull or when you just need a pick-me-up.

Hydrating avocado and honey mask
Eating avocado, whether you like it as guacamole or smothered with milk, can provide you with omega-3 fatty acids, which prevent fatigue, poor memory, poor blood circulation, heart problems, mood swings, and dry skin. When applied on skin, this fruit can moisturize and nourish it with various vitamins. A dose of honey can add antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to calm those stubborn pimples.

Soothing oatmeal mask
Oatmeal is a widely used ingredient for an array of skin products like soaps and facial cleansers. Used in skincare since 2000 B.C., this breakfast staple contains vitamins, minerals, and lipids. It addresses skin irritation and dryness, and exfoliates the skin gently. This mask recipe also contains honey and yogurt, which is rich in lactic acid (considered a gentle exfoliant).

Ingredients
1/3 cup oats
1/2 cup hot water
1 tbsp. honey
1 to 2 tbsp. unsweetened yogurt

Brightening strawberry and lemon mask
With brands like Dear Klairs, The Ordinary, and Drunk Elephant coming up with their stable vitamin C solutions, the benefits of vitamin C to the skin have been hyped. To begin with, vitamin C contains antioxidants that help the skin fight damage caused by sun exposure. It also helps with collagen production, keeping the skin young-looking and supple. And it also brightens dark spots and pigmentation.

If you’re not ready to spend on vitamin C serums, grab some strawberries and lemons first. Both fruits are rich in vitamin C, which may lighten dark spots and improve your overall skin tone.

Natural skincare sounds good. However, no matter how natural these masks can be, sensitive skin might still be irritated. Don’t forget to test it on one area first before slathering the mask all over your face.
