THE Writers’ Bloc, an independent group of emerging and established playwrights headed by acclaimed dramatist Rody Vera, is inviting interested parties to attend its regular reading sessions of new plays every other Sunday afternoon, starting Aug. 9.

The plays read and discussed during these sessions will be considered for presentation at the annual Virgin Labfest, which the Writer’s Bloc holds in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Tanghalang Pilipino.

This festival has introduced a new generation of Filipino playwrights, which includes Layeta Bucoy, Allan Lopez, J. Dennis Teodosio, Debbie Ann Tan, Dingdong Novenario, Em Mendez, Maynard Manansala and Eljay Castro Deldoc.

The reading sessions are free of charge. For inquiries, please send an e-mail to Vera at [email protected] or [email protected], or visit www.facebook.com/writersblocinc.
