Inquirer Lifestyle’s banner event, “Best Desserts,” gets its mini version next weekend as about 20 dessert makers gather to sell their sweets.

The Mini Best Desserts will be held at Central Square, Bonifacio Global City, on March 31, April 1-2; 11 a.m.-11 p.m., on Friday and Saturday, and 11 am-10 p.m, Sunday.

The 20-plus dessert makers will show and sell their sweet creations featured in the best-selling desserts guide, “Best Desserts” Book 3, which was launched before a big crowd last month at SM Aura. (However, the annual launch, much awaited by bakers and consumers alike, is not a selling event.)

The fair will have a dizzying mix, from fruit-laden cakes and pies to frozen brazo and gelato ice cream, spread out beautifully on tables dressed up by the dessert makers themselves.
Shoppers will also have the chance to meet the talented bakers.

The Lifestyle Inquirer Best Desserts’ three-day selling event has also lined up exciting activities to liven up the weekend. There will be workshops and talks on Wine and Food Pairing by Inquirer Lifestyle food columnist Reggie Aspiras, Tablescaping by Cocoon stylist Malou Macatangay, and Food Styling by F&B magazine editor Angelo Comsti.

Notable dessert makers joining the event are Gel Salonga (Avocado Cheesecake and Mango Kasuy Sans Rival); Linda Morelos (Bailey’s Irish Cream Flan Cake and Cacao Con Leche Cake); Gina Villanueva (Sluttier Slutty Brownie); Diana Ang Uy (Éclair); Roselyn Tiangco-Siapno (Pistachio Sans Rival); Dimpy Camara (Mocha Crunch); Bernice Pimentel (Rosed Water Melon and Lychee Bavarois); Marge San Diego-Laxa (Dayap Cake); Gene Gonzalez (Strawberry Overload); Anna Rodrigo (Revel Bars and Mango Mousse); Sunshine Pengson (Queso de Bola Sans Rival and Fudgy Brownies); Reina Bautista-Garcia (Coffee Caramel Indulgence and Tablea Cake); Ann Abacan (Nenzo Choco Fudge); Rossana Hwang (Peach Tart); Sabine Katigbak (Super Chewy Milo Cookies); Jomel Salas and Joby Provido (Brownie Bars); Jean Hill (Ice Cream Pops); Luis Mercado (Taisan); Judy Lao (Jud’s Fruitcake); Karla Ilacad (Violet Velvet Cake); Angelica Atanacio (Baklava De Kasuy); and Dedet dela Fuente (Guinataang Mais Mousse).

Central Square is on Bonifacio High Street Central, 5th Ave. and 30th St., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
