A woman in Virginia who only intended to buy some cabbage for her dad got lucky by winning $225,000 (almost P11.9 million) in her local lottery.

Vanessa Ward said on Monday, Dec. 3, that her father asked her to pick up some cabbage. She then obliged and went to the local food store, and from there decided to buy a scratch ticket.

Ward got home and scratched the ticket, that showed she had the opportunity to spin the big wheel at the Virginia Lottery headquarters. That wheel can lead her to win between $100,000 to $500,000 (almost P5.3 million to P26.4 million).

When she spun the wheel at the headquarters, it got her $225,000 to take home.

She said her win was timely since she planned to retire soon, and to go to Disney World in the future.  /ra
