With continuous makeup and skincare drops, local beauty brands have kept us excited in the first half of 2022. Last month, we listed some of our fave new lippies and palettes. This time around, we’re letting you in on the skincare products that have caught our attention as well.
Whether you’re looking for a new beach buddy or just trying to look your best at home despite the unrelenting heat, this list is for you.
Filipinta Beauty’s Lumpia collection
e can’t get enough of Filipinta Beauty’s quirky packaging inspired by our fave childhood sari-sari store snacks. The New York-based brand took inspo from the cheesy Lumpia Shanghai snack for its latest collection, which includes an orange lip tint and an eyeshadow palette.
Instead of having the usual clear liquid lipstick bottle, the Lumpia lip tint has a corn puff-shaped container wrapped in paper sachet packaging. On the other hand, the eyeshadow palette has 12 orange-tinged shades with merienda-inspired names like Pabili Po, Isa Pa, and Ice Tubig.
Detail Cosmetics’s Fresh Filter foundation
Fresh Filter, vegan brand Detail Cosmetics’s nourishing natural finish foundation, has been getting a bit of hype. Made with 50% pure rose water and other skin-loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, it can be your go-to for light to medium coverage if you have sensitive skin.
It has a demi-matte finish for that soft-focus effect and comes in five shades: Creme, Macadamia, Cashew, Caramel, and Coconut. If you’re looking for something versatile, the brand also has a no-budge color stick collection called Clay Pen.
GRWM Cosmetics’s Milk Tint Minis
GRWM Cosmetics’s creamy multi-use Milk Tint set isn’t new-new but they now come in minis. Do you often leave your lippie at home or forget you even have one in need of using? The brand has handy instructions for turning your mini lip tint into a cute keychain—a win for beauty and keychain connoisseurs.
It comes in six shades: Fruit Tea, Wintermelon, Cheesecake, Okinawa, 100% Sugar, and Mixed Berries. One dot of the tint goes a long way, so this mini can last for quite a while. You might also want to check out the three new shades on GRWM’s Radiance Tint concealers set: Peach Corrector, 00 Milk, and 29C Honey.
BYS x Disney Princess collection
We love a good cartoon-inspired beauty collab. Our latest fave is the BYS x Disney Princess collection with its simple packaging that exudes classic glam. It includes sun tint, lip and cheek tint, plumping mascara, liquid eyeliner, and a face mask set.
Our fave from the line would have to be the BYS x Disney Sun Tint. Though it’s lightweight, it still gives a bit of natural-looking coverage and is summer-ready with SPF 36.
Happy Skin’s Calm & Soothe Skincare Boosters
Happy Skin dropped a new skincare set centered on what it calls the powerhouse four: hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, ceramides, and cica. The series includes the Calming Glow Drops, the Overnight Calming Cream, and the Calming Spot Corrector.
We’re partial to the Calming Glow Drops, which is an instant redness-reducing daytime serum. It has a blendable milky serum feel, boosts skin glow, and is infused with SPF 35.
BLK Skin’s Brightening & Soothing Collection
BLK Skin also started offering its white bouquet complex and niacinamide-infused Brightening & Soothing Collection this year. The line includes the supercharged serum, cream, face mask, and makeup removing wipes.
Our pick from the line is the supercharged cream. The non-sticky day and night cream contains 3% niacinamide, boosts radiance, and has peptides for bouncy skin.
