Kiiara broke out in the scene with “Gold.” The electropop song hit our playlists with a chill but sexy vibe and introduced us to the 21-year old who has been hailed as a mix of Ellie Goulding and Lorde.
Such promise made it exciting and fitting for her to be the headliner for #AYearofESCAPE. This was the first year anniversary party of the digital hub counterpart of The Palace. I was happy to catch the party on a Friday night to kick off my weekend. People couldn’t put down their phones as Kiiara dominated the stage in her casual but cool girl style: messy hair, a choker, and an oversized shirt. She sang her other songs “Feels” and “Hang Up the Phone” from her EP Low Kii Savage to fans who sang and swayed along.
Kiiara was the last act in a big show that featured DJ Nix Damn P and singer-songwriter Lesha. As Lesha sang her version of Amine’s “Caroline” and other songs, a fashion show by SM Accessories was ongoing, featuring the brand’s latest summer collection.
In between, guests were enjoying the specialty drinks, photo walls, and spotting different influencers such as Luis Hontiveros of Pinoy Big Brother, Azkals player Anton Del Rosario, Samantha Richelle, and YouTube darling Wil Dasovich.
It’s been a great year for The Palace and its four concepts: Palace Pool Club, Café Naya, Revel, and Valkyrie. Looking forward to more parties and more great acts.
