On Sunday night, the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards saw some of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry flaunt their fashionable looks. From timeless Hollywood sophistication to bold and daring attire, the red carpet served as a remarkable display of some of the most beautiful outfits that have been showcased throughout this year’s awards season. In no particular order, here are our favorites:

1. Michelle Yeoh

First Asian Best Actress winner at the SAG, Michelle Yeoh donned a simple black column gown that was embellished with a startling pop of yellow sequined fringe running down the front like a trail of bright yellow stars in the night sky. Her Moussaieff jewelry glimmered like drops of dew on a spider’s web, with the yellow diamonds catching the light like flickering flames. It was a striking ensemble that seemed to hint at a deeper, fascinating story just waiting to be told – and that night, she did. 

2. Julia Garner

As if rising from the ocean’s depths, Julia Garner emerged wearing a custom Gucci gown that seemed to evoke the image of a mermaid. The metallic orange dress was alluring and foreboding, with scallop-like cups that seemed to shimmer like scales and pleated fabric swirling around her elbows like a whirlpool. A thigh-high slit revealed just a hint of her lower body, while a bedazzled fishnet material draped over her shoulders and arms like a net, adding an air of danger to her already striking appearance. It was a dress fit for a siren, one that whispered secrets and hidden depths just waiting to be explored.

3. Eddie Redmayne

Eddie Redmayne strode onto the scene with an air of understated elegance, clad in high-waisted black dress pants that clung to his legs like a shadow. His upper half, however, was another story altogether. A crisp white dress shirt hugged his torso, the wrap-tied bow at the neckline lending an air of flamboyancy to the otherwise simple outfit. There was no excess ornamentation, no flashy jewelry to distract from the focal point: the necktie. And his shoes! The deep V-neck cut plunged towards her midriff, baring just enough skin to tantalize and tease. And let’s not forget the strip of black fabric that accentuated her upper waist – it was like a ribbon on a present, drawing the eye to all the right places. The gown was held up with thin straps that seemed almost delicate against the weight of the dress, and large black velvet bows added a touch of stylish flair just underneath. Then, there’s the train: It pooled behind her like a river of midnight, adding a touch of drama to an already stunning ensemble.

5. Zendaya

When Zendaya strode onto the red carpet, all eyes were on her – and with good reason. She was dressed in a strapless Valentino gown that was as delicate as a rose petal, its blush pink hue perfectly complementing her complexion. But it was the train that really caught the attention of onlookers. Covered in sculpted rosettes that seemed to have a life of their own, it trailed behind her like a thing alive. Her hair was a ’60s-inspired ponytail that bounced and swayed with every step, the curled ends adding a touch of whimsy to the look. Her makeup was retro and chic, with just the right amount of smoky eye and winged liner to make her look like a classic Hollywood starlet. But it was the dress that really stole the show. The mod design was square-necked and floor-sweeping, with two bow-shaped panels cascading down the back like waterfalls. It was daring and dramatic, the perfect choice for a woman who wasn’t afraid to make a statement.

7. Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt arrived at the event wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown that was impossible to miss. Jenna Ortega appeared on the red carpet in a gown that could only be described as Wednesday Addams meets Hollywood glamour. The strapless dress was vintage Versace, and it had all the hallmarks of the iconic fashion house. The neckline was asymmetrical, adding a touch of edginess to the otherwise classic silhouette. Meghann Fahy glowed in a stunning white gown that showcased her fit figure with bold cut-outs: The floor-length dress featured intricate detailing of small white crystals that added a glittering effect, while a sleeveless silhouette added a touch of classic elegance. The dress also had a dramatic train trailing behind her, giving her a fairy tale aura. Adding a modern twist to the outfit, a large circular side cutout made the dress daring and edgy. Completing her chic ensemble were diamond statement drop earrings and a thin diamond ring. To add some glamour, her hair was styled in luscious curls, making her look like a starlet from the Golden Age of Hollywood.

The talented Aubrey Plaza stepped onto the SAG Awards red carpet, flaunting a daring Michael Kors dress that showcased her boldness. The copper gown, adorned with sparkling embellishments, featured an extreme cut-out design and a daring leg slit that left little to the imagination. Aubrey paired the dress with golden-hued makeup that complimented her brown, curled bob-length hair. With her stunning look, Aubrey proved that taking risks can lead to extraordinary rewards.

13. Rooney Mara

Rooney Mara made a haunting entrance with a lace Alexander McQueen creation, a designer she holds in high regard. The sleeveless piece boasted a high lace turtleneck and a fitted bodice, accentuated by floral accents on the chest and skirt that boasts a picture of a bird. A see-through pleated hemline and subtle train added to the dress’s ethereal nature as she moved about with Chanel beauty accents.

14. Austin Butler

Austin Butler was a vision in burgundy: He sported a stunning three-piece tuxedo by Gucci that fit him like a glove. But that’s not all – he accessorized his look with a glimmering Tank Louis Cartier watch and eye-catching yellow-gold cufflinks and rings, all by Cartier. Just like Elvis on stage, Butler definitely knew how to make a statement on the red carpet.

15. Danielle Deadwyler

Danielle Deadwyler looked absolutely breathtaking at the event. The actress wore Bulgari high jewelry, which sparkled brilliantly with yellow and white diamonds set in platinum. But the real showstopper was her custom gown from Louis Vuitton which was a work of art. The dress featured hand-embroidered silk petals that gradually transitioned from pink to white, creating a stunning ombré effect that was impossible to miss. It was truly a sight to behold.

16. Jennifer Coolidge

What a season it has been for Jennifer Coolidge! She added another trophy to her collection on Sunday for her outstanding performance in The White Lotus, and her dress was the talk of the town. Her black jersey gown, designed by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, was simply stunning and hailed as her best look of the year. But that’s not all – she also rocked a Brigitte Bardot-inspired hairstyle that perfectly complemented her ensemble. Kudos to Jennifer for yet another red carpet win!

17. Haley Lu Richardson

In the fashion spirit of her character, Haley Lu Richardson flaunted a strapless, sequin-studded column dress enriched with modern pearls from Wes Gordon’s Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2023 collection. Accompanying her attire was a pearl-adorned purse, also from Herrera, and she polished off the ensemble with an array of diamond accessories by Maison Boucheron.

18. Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett’s outfit was not only stylish but also sustainable. The talented actress has been promoting eco-consciousness by wearing outfits she had previously worn on the red carpet. On this occasion, she chose to wear a stunning Giorgio Armani Privé gown embellished with black sequins and crystal micro edging. However, it was the black lace top that caught everyone’s attention, as it was a modified version of the one she wore to the 2014 Golden Globes and 2018 Cannes Film Festival. It was a brilliant move by Blanchett, as it showed that fashionable and environmentally friendly can go hand in hand.

19. Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett appeared ravishing in a vibrant Giambattista Valli dress, adorned with tulle detailing. The dress boasted a luminous lemon color that perfectly complemented the star’s beauty. The voluminous tulle neckline and matching hemline added to the dress’s charm, making her look like a ray of sunshine.

20. Quinta Brunson

The actress Quinta Brunson appeared at the awards ceremony adorned in a gown that could only be described as a work of art. The creation was designed by the famed Lebanese fashion artist, Jean-Louis Sabaji, and it boasted a grandiose white scallop shell bodice, which was juxtaposed against a black skirt that shimmered with sparkling embellishments. Quinta’s raven locks were fashioned into a tight bun, and her eyes were emphasized with a smokey shadow and striking red lipstick. The Neil Lane jewelry she wore added to the glamour, with her dangling earrings and glimmering rings sparkling under the bright lights of the event.
