Ivanka Trump recently said that she doesn’t know the meaning of “complicit.” Good thing Merriam Webster was there to fill in the blanks.

In an interview with CBS News’ Gayle King, Ivanka was asked if she, along with brother Eric Trump, were complicit of what’s happening in the White House. She replied, “If being complicit is wanting to be a force of good and wanting a positive impact then I’m complicit.”

The question comes after Ivanka was given a position in the White House. She was also criticized for her decision to not use her influence to keep her father’s temper and actions in check.

“I don’t know what it means to be complicit, but I hope time will prove I have done a good job and that my father’s Administration is the success I know it will be,” Ivanka adds.

Strangely enough, “complicit” became a trending topic. This prompted Merriam Webster to help out Ivanka in knowing what the word actually means.

“Helping to commit a crime or do wrong in some way.” Read that carefully, Ivanka. Maybe frame it in your West Wing office too.

Back in March, Saturday Night Live also poked fun at Ivanka with a parody ad for “Complicit” perfume. This starred Scarlett Johansson who tagged the perfume as “the fragrance for the woman who can stop all this, but won’t.”
