If you’re a fan of the Scott Sternbeg-helmed Band of Outsiders, you may want to sit down before reading this. According to Fashionista, the contemporary women’s line, which started out as a men’s shirt and tie company, has canceled their fall orders and laid off majority of their staff due to low funds.
 
Celebrity fans of the brand included Kirsten Dunst, comedian Aziz Ansari, and Jason Schwartzman. How a company that was nominated for a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2008 and pulled in $12 million in sales in 2010 could be floundering just a few years later is a mystery that’s hard to swallow. Many successful businesses eventually close down just a few years later due to a number of reasons. Whatever Scott’s may be, we just hope this isn’t the end of his design career.
