Taylor Swift isn’t a liar. And she’s not afraid to take matters to court.
The singer has filed a counterclaim against Denver DJ David Mueller over a groping incident that happened last 2013. The singer claims that David squeezed her butt backstage.
The lawsuit comes in defense of the 1989 hitmaker as David first approached the court with claims that the singer’s false sexual assault accusations cost him his job as a DJ at KYGO Radio. He brought the case to the US District Court last September, suing not only Taylor but also her security.
However, Swift’s lawyers say that David didn’t just grope the singer’s butt but also lifted up her skirt to get better access during a meet-and-greet event before her concert. Taylor’s lawyers claimed that she was “surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed” during the assault.
If everything goes in Taylor’s favor, the money she’ll get from the case might be donated to charitable organizations “dedicated to protecting women from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard.”
