We’re looking for talented, hardworking creatives who want to be part of our family. Don’t worry, this isn’t some mechanical desk job. It requires imagination, perception, and a bucket of creativity. Geared to be the voice of the youth, applicants should be ready to dive first into covering everything that involves youth culture–music, events, fashion, and more.

Associate Editor

An associate editor must have strong writing and editing skills. Management skills are a huge plus as he or she is also in charge of overseeing production, including budget reports, timelines, and schedules. As an editor, he or she must be able to produce well-written articles, as well as edit and proofread content across all channels. The associate editor will also be assisting the Editor in Chief when needed. One-year experience minimum is required.

Content Creator or Editorial Assistant

Applying for this job is the start to a career in publishing. Junior content creators are tasked to write, pitch, and edit stories that are enticing to the youth. A pleasant and approachable personality is a plus as they will also represent the brand in events, and establish a professional relationship with stakeholders. They are also in charge of interviewing personalities, managing editorial interns, and performing clerical work. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Knowledge in video production and Photoshop is a plus.

Graphic designer

The graphic designer is the cornerstone of Scout. He or she should be able to work with the Editor in Chief in overseeing the visual representation and art direction of the brand. Filled with creativity, he or she will also be in charge of the magazine’s layout as well as creating visuals for web content. Lastly, or she will manage art interns.

Editorial Intern

Editorial interns should be quick on their feet and able to produce stories with a strong writing voice that is in line with the SCOUT branding. They must also be adept with the various social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) and have ideas to contribute to the table. Other tasks include helping with shoots, representing SCOUT at events, and event coverage.

Art Intern

Art interns should have an eye for good design and visuals that are also in tune with the SCOUT branding. Technical skills include knowledge in editing softwares such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Lightroom. Video editing is a plus. Other tasks include art direction, styling, and event coverage.
