As a self-sustaining 21-year-old with an entry level salary, I’m an instant ramen devotee—for eating, that is. But as footwear? Maybe not.
But even if we at Scout aren’t, Bottega Veneta seems to be. The Italian fashion brand, known for its signature quilted kitten-heel Lido shoes, came out with a new shoe that has stirred the internet’s fancy: a macramé-style mule that looks way too much like uncooked ramen noodles.

The shoes are part of Bottega Veneta’s 2020 Pre-Fall collection, under the leadership of creative director Daniel Lee. The macramé-style footwear also comes in an open-heeled boot version (unsure if that makes it better or worse, TBH).

Anything that the internet takes interest in is bound to birth a meme, and so the shoe has been compared to pantry items—instant noodles and NSYNC-era Justin Timberlake’s hair, of course.
If anything, it makes us crave a packet of chilimansi pancit canton for merienda.
