While many are struggling on how to shop for necessities while maintaining a safe distance away from crowds, Pasig City has implemented a solution that will not only ease crowding but also help vendors sell their products.
Announced by Mayor Vico Sotto on his Twitter page, the “mobile palengke” will roam around the city and go directly to residents. There will be a total of five roving mobile stores and the schedule is yet to be posted on Pasig City Public Information Office’s Facebook page.
Upang mabawasan ang dami ng tao sa Pasig Mega Market at mga talipala, inilunsad namin ang MOBILE PALENGKE.
Presyong palengke, mas malapit sa mamimili, at tulong na rin sa mga maninindang Pasigueño.

But Sotto assured that they will soon release information on which locations it can be found and at what dates.
“Presyong palengke, mas malapit sa mamimili, at tulong na rin sa mga maninindang Pasigueño,” is how the Mayor described this initiative.
Since the escalation of the community quarantine to enhanced community quarantine, causing disruption in the usual farm to market chain, most farmers are having a hard time selling their produce.

The project has so far garnered positive feedback from the online community lauding Sotto’s unorthodox methods, which he got flak for from the President last week.
