The Philippine Daily Inquirer is one of the many media outlets I look up to. I picked it up in first grade back in 2001, during the height of the second Edsa People Power Revolution, when my understanding of the news and current affairs was limited.

Since then, I always looked forward to the paper’s editorials and columns such as Conrado de Quiros’ “There’s the Rub” and Winnie Monsod’s “Get Real,” which reflected the paper’s commitment to balanced news and fearless views.

The Inquirer also accompanied me as I honed my campus journalism skills in elementary school.

PDI was among the first outlets I connected with when I started my career in public relations back in 2017. I knew then that the paper would definitely be part of my everyday life for a long time.

Congratulations and happy 39th anniversary to the Philippine Daily Inquirer!
