Five years ago with the launch of his streaming service TIDAL, Jay-Z previously removed his music—alongside other “artist-owners” Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and more—from the service’s direct competitors. While other artists have slowly trickled back to sites like Spotify, Jay-Z’s return is a whole other deal as the TIDAL owner himself.
