MANILA, Philippines – Have fun while you lose weight.
This was Fitness First’s message to those interested in trying out a new weight loss program that plays up its fun aspect and aims to motivate its participants by working out in small groups.
The new exclusive program: Lose It! is a flexible and personal exercise plan which promises to engage its participants in a fun team work-out which can span four to 12 weeks.
Lose It! developer The Biggest Loser Asia trainer and Fitness First Regional Fitness Manager Dave Nuku explained that the weight loss program was made “for people who are currently not enrolled in a gym but are looking for a fast and effective way of losing weight.”
According to Fitness First, there really is no quick-fix to physical health and weight loss but with the Lose It! program, participants are motivated to continue working out because they have fun during exercises with teammates.
The new program will be useful for those who have placed health and fitness, said Fitness First Country Manager Mark Ellis, in “the back seat.” He added that the program would “provide people with a quick and effective work-out solution for individuals on the go.”
Developed by Nuku and supported by Jacqueline Wong, Fitness First’s Regional Group Training Exercise Manager, Lose It! was designed to work on any body type and is “designed to provide access to a defined period with a clear objective and an end result in mind.”
Nuku said that the program included assistance on practical diets and “work-out that is fun.” Ellis explained that they also aim to educate people about the common misconception about diets as the program was also equipped with nutritional guidelines.
Lose It!, added Nuku, aimed to motivate its participants through the team sessions by making them focus more about the group activities, getting “inspired by teammates” and “having fun.”
Being a program that revolves around personal exercise plans, trainers will create plans tailored to an individual’s weight loss goal and the frequency of going to the gym which the participant can commit to.
Lose It! participants will receive a body guide and a body journal, three one hour one-on-one personal training sessions and team work-out sessions.
Fitness First said that team workout sessions would give participants an hour’s worth of complete training aimed at strengthening the participant’s cardiovascular system, strength and flexibility using games, plyometrics and circuit training.
The program is also affordable “at under P4,000 a month,” said Ellis who explained that he was “confident that [the program] will work.”
He added that there was really no age limit to participants but that they should at least be 14 years of age and should be checked for any health risks.
Lose It! will be available in all Fitness First clubs starting this March, said Ellis. He added that they would be doing road shows to spread the word about the new program.
