i-D, the magazine that launched the careers of several up-and-comers in fashion, celebrated three and a half decades in the business with 18 covers featuring the biggest names in the industry. Lensed by photographer Alasdair McLelland, who began his career at i-D, the magazine tapped supermodels like Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy, Stella Tennant, and Lara Stone, along with fresh faces Karly Loyce, Adrienne Juliger, and Jean Campbell.
“This issue I wanted to work with some of my favorite stylists and some of my favorite models,” Alisdair says in an interview on the i-D website. “So there is work with Olivier Rizzo, Jane How, Edward Enninful, Benjamin Bruno, Fran Burns, and Marie Chaix. They all just felt right and related to i-D.”
The magazine also tapped 11 designers, including Karl Lagerfeld, Phoebe Philo, Riccardo Tisci, and Alexander Wang to design special limited-edition covers that will be available in select boutiques in Europe.
