Film festivals around the metro are being postponed | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

In light of the declaration of community quarantine and the social distancing measures that are set to take effect, major events such as sales, festivals, art fairs and theater productions have already been canceled. One of the latest to take precautions against the virus are film festival organizers, who have announced the postponement of festivals around the country to later dates.

If you’re thinking of visiting any of these film festivals or have tickets to them, take note of these:

Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)

The summer edition of the MMFF was slated to take place on Apr. 11 to 21, with eight full-length films and student-made short films on their line up. No information about the rescheduling of the event has been released as of writing.

Daang Dokyu

Initially scheduled from Mar. 16 to 21, Daang Dokyu also cited the suspension of events at the UP Film Center as a reason to postpone the event. Tickets bought in advance will still be honored on the rescheduled dates, though people who want to claim refunds may contact [email protected].

Sinag Maynila

Set to run from Mar. 17 to 24, Sinag Maynila was set to screen four full-length films, six documentaries and 10 short films through the course of the event. Parallel events such as lectures and appreciation talks will be postponed and the organizers assured everyone involved that the film fest will be held “at a more opportune time.”
