A group of houses inside Urdaneta Village, Makati, reportedly owned by the Social Security System is drawing the ire of its neighbors.
It all started when environmental worker and underwater photographer Danny Ocampo posted a photo on Facebook, calling attention to the corals replanted beside this underwater “monument” in Anilao, Batangas.

In the immediate aftermath, at least, there was none of the irreverent humor that Filipinos are known for, we who make fun of anything and anyone, even and especially our own misfortune. The enormity of the tragedy was such that not even the worst kibitzers on social media had the guts to post any wisecrack.
Not to frighten him, but if Sen. JV Ejercito had been nearby when he announced the détente between the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and ridesharing services Uber and Grab, I would have hugged him.
