When you have a brand as iconic as La Mer, chances are, your look can come off as a little staid from time to time if you don’t liven things up now and then.
In celebration of their 50th anniversary, the brand teamed up with illustrator Dana Veraldi of the artist duo Deer Dana (comprised of herself and Kevin Tekinel) to create a special limited-edition tote bag to accompany a rose gold tub of their famous Moisturizing Cream.
(On a side note: rose gold seems to be having a moment, especially with the rumored release of the iPhone 6s in the same metallic hue.)
Deer Dana has already worked with the likes of Madewell, Nordstrom, and Adidas before, and they have a line of T-shirts carried by Opening Ceremony.
While the brand has collaborated with artists like Yellena James on a holiday illustrations, publications like National Geographic to promote ocean conservation, and luxury leather goods brands like Anya Hindmarch and Asprey to make heartbreakingly beautiful vanity cases, their current collaboration doesn’t take itself as seriously.
Dana certainly isn’t the type of artist we’d expect a premium brand like La Mer to work with, but we have to say: The results are totes cute.
