Manny Pacquiao’s newly acquired house in Forbes (P300 million-plus) was the talk of the town and was—was—the biggest deal in that compact neighborhood in Makati.
Today, people are talking about a more expensive purchase. A businessman reportedly bought a big sprawl in Forbes Park for more than P160,000 per square meter. That’s just the land; he still has to build the house.
But apparently there have been bigger landmark deals than Pacquaio’s. Late last year a family estate went for half a billion pesos, bought by a top businessman associated with a former government figure. But the benchmark of McKinley property purchases was a deal made two years ago—P450 million for one-hectare property.
