Levi’s launched its new Revel jeans with a très exclusive affair at posh Forbes Park. The line comes in awesome cuts and colors, all toward one goal—to give each woman the legs and the butt that she has always wanted to have, no matter what body type she is.
Models walking on the runway gave the audience the chance to see how Levi’s Revel jeans shape their wearer’s body in action.
Adrenaline got higher as ballet dancers wearing Revel took center stage. The ballet showed the utmost comfort and flexibility one could experience with Levi’s Revel.
The new Levi’s line had a diverse crew of gorgeous ambassadors: beauty queens Shamcey Supsup and Venus Raj; “it” girls Saab Magalona and Vania Romoff; and actresses Maxene Magalona and Lauren Young.
Said marketing manager Gec Cajucom, “Levi’s exclusive Liquid Shaping Technology controls the stretch of denim in specific areas, lifting and defining the body to give its wearer a beautifully sculpted shape, all while keeping it comfortable.”
The exclusive event allowed select people to try on the Revel, allowing them to take home their own pair of jeans. They chose the jeans that were the most flattering for them, natch.

Privé turns 2
VIPs flocked to Privé Luxury Club when it celebrated its second anniversary.
Guests were treated to an endless flow of Johnnie Walker Black Label, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and Smirnoff Vodka. Heating up the dance floor was music by resident DJs John Monreal and Roda King.
A sparkling grand parade welcomed one of the club’s partners—the très charmant and my true Ilonggo palangga, JM Rodriguez. He led a toast in behalf of his other partners: nightlife impresario Erik Cua; the undisputed king of nightlife Louie Ysmael; PR dynamo GP Reyes; Kimberly Yao; KC Santi; chef Fernando Aracama; and Tim Yap.
DJs Ace Ramos and Mars Miranda teamed up with their music mixes, followed by Funk Avy. People crowded the dance floor, including a bunch of gate-crashers who always try hard to be with the “in” crowd. Oh, well.
Said JM: “After two successful years as the cornerstone of Manille’s night scene, Privé promises to continue making every night out a work of art, from the food to the cocktails, the music, the ambiance and the service.”
It had to be my pal JM to get Privé’s nightlife always on a roll, di bala palangga?
New Mandarin GM
Mandarin Oriental, Manila gave a fab, red-carpet welcome to its new très charmant GM, Torsten van Dullemen.
Manille’s A-listers crowded The Tivoli restaurant for the reception.
Nonoy Colayco, hotshot chairperson of Jardine Matheson Group in the Philippines, introduced the tall, dashing Dutch hotelier, who has held senior management positions in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group before coming to Manila.
He first joined the group in 2004 as resident manager of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. He was hotel manager for two years of the flagship hotel, the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. His most recent posting was as GM of the group’s Chiang Mai property.
Colayco recalled that Van Dullemen joined The Oberoi Udaivilas in India in 2007 to 2010; the hotel was named by renowned international travel publications as the best resort hotel in Asia and the world, in the years that he was the general manager; and that the hotelier had published two books containing photos of his India experience.
The invitees wasted no time in buying the book, whose proceeds went to the underprivileged children in Rajasthan, India.
With a grand happening like this, there just had to be chilled-cool Moët & Chandon champagne. It was the perfect complement to the exquisite cocktail finger foods prepared by executive chef Rene Ottlik, dahlings.
Wrapping up the evening was the raffle of luxurious hotel prizes. Winners were Cultural Center of the Philippines president and University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music dean Raul Sunico (who got an overnight stay in the two-bedroom Mandarin Suite); Cinemalaya Foundation president Nes Jardin (a “Time Rituals” spa treatment for two, complete with refreshments); and philanthropist-socialite Marivic Madrigal Vasquez (a six-course degustation dinner for two at The Tivoli).
Van Dullemen’s charming la bella Italiana wife Paola received helpful tips from many of the lady guests on places to visit in the city, suburbs and provinces.
Van Dullemen said a Michelin-star French chef will soon work at The Tivoli. He also acknowledged the support of Etihad Airways’ country manager John Rees Evans.
