For her latest collection, Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez takes on a different turn with Il Fiore Oscuro (Dark Flowers).

 

“I wanted to do something different from what is expected of me, so I went minimal. I actually veered toward darker colors for Christmas as opposed to what I usually do, which are the brights and the prints—they’re still there but in a darker version.”

 

The collection consists of dresses, jumpsuits, skirts and other separates. Neoprene, silk chiffon and satinized jersey fabrics sewn in minimalist lines bring out the sophistication of a modern woman, something that the designer had envisioned. Shades range from black to aqua and red—the perfect colors to celebrate the holiday season.

 

Regular patrons can still see the classic Rodriguez touch with Il Fiore Oscuro, as the pieces give light to the quintessential 21st-century woman. “It’s more about power dressing. It shows a stronger side of a woman and her strength as an individual on this collection,” Rodriguez said.
