Gray hair can come early even to young women, and it can be quite a shock.
Science says thyroid disorders, vitamin B12 deficiency, hormonal imbalance and smoking can speed up the graying of hair. No dietary change can reverse the process once it starts.
Advanced research from Kerastase also indicates that gray hair is a result of two things: the dysfunction of stem cells that can cause the loss of hair volume; and the depletion of melanin supply, which alters the texture of hair, making it dull and rough.
Fortunately, there are ways to deal with graying hair gracefully.
Color
There are a multitude of hair color options out there; it should be easy to find a good stylist to help fix your hair. Gray hair can be really pretty if you work with it. You can add highlights or lowlights to add some depth into the color.
You can also cover up the gray completely with full-color coverage. Make sure to pair your hair color with a great haircut to add intensity and character to your ’do.
There are fill-in powders that work just as well as professional hair coloring. This works to cover the gray and fill in thinning and balding areas. This product, which my aunt swears by, is waterproof and sweat-proof, which is something we worry about because we live in a tropical country.
However, I find that using this product can be quite tedious given that it washes out with shampoo, so you’d have to use it on a daily (or every other day) basis.
Serum
