BB cream just for your eyelids? It’s the kind of thing that you didn’t know you needed until one beauty company makes it.
San Francisco, California-based company Benefit Cosmetics just rolled out a new product called Air Patrol BB cream eyelid primer, a tube of tinted liquid makeup that claims to color-correct the skin on your eyelids, protect it from the sun’s rays and environmental stresses, provide hydration, and enhance the color and extend the wear of your eye shadow.
The eyelids are among the body’s most delicate parts, and yet they take such a beating from the moment you wake up till your head hits the pillow at night—when you wash your face, put on your contact lenses, apply and remove makeup, etc. The American company, known for its quirky personality and innovative beauty solutions with whimsical names, created Air Patrol to, as it tagline says, “defend the eyelids from unfriendly skies.”
Air Patrol’s key skincare ingredients are listed as: EnviroDefend complex, shea extract, silk tree extract, licorice root and glycerin. It also has SPF 20 PA+++.
Unlike Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray, which is a primer applied around the eyes, Air Patrol is designed just for the lids.
Benefit has been also quite focused on its products applicators of late that the Air Patrol wand has a so-called Cushion Calm tip, a gel memory foam-like applicator that’s gentle on the eyelids.
Limited-edition holiday kits
As early as Oct. 15, Benefit also began selling its much-awaited holiday kits, this time in 1980s party theme collectible canisters and tins containing the brand’s favorite products.
Another yearend favorite, the Advent calendar, gets a redesign this year: the limited-edition collectible box called Party Poppers contains 12 key products (instead of the usual 24) for “12 days of gorgeous.” An added treat: the box plays an original Bene-song when you open it.
The brand also made available mini sizes of two best-sellers: The Porefessional Balm for pores, and the hair rollers-inspired Roller Lash mascara, specially made for younger customers on a tight budget.
In November, Benefit will also have a limited blinged-out version of the top-selling They’re Real mascara, its wand handle studded in Swarovski crystals.
Later this month, Benefit will open its Philippine flagship—and, at 100 square meters, its biggest store in Asia, according to brand manager Donna Shaw—at SM Megamall.
Benefit Cosmetics, which was founded in 1976 in San Francisco, has shops and counters at Greenbelt 5, Trinoma, SM Mall of Asia, Alabang Town Center, BGC Central Square Mall, Rustan’s Makati and Rustan’s Shangri-La.
