BAYANIHAN, declared National Folk Dance Company of the Philippines by virtue of Republic Act 8626, is celebrating its 60th anniversary with the production of “@60: Bayanihan’s Diamond Dance-O-Rama.”
The production dramatizes Bayanihan’s growth and surveys its folk-dance innovations. It will be mounted at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Aug. 25-27, 8 p.m., with a matinee on Aug. 27, 3 p.m.
To be launched is the book, “60 years, Fulfilling the Filipino Dream, Touching Lives, Sharing Culture: The Art of Bayanihan,” written by the late Sen. Helena Z Benitez and Bayanihan Foundation trustee and executive director Suzie Moya Benitez, and edited by Jose Cabazor.
