London continues to offer unique and original designs. The collections of the top 10 labels dictated the hot trends for the rest of the planet to knock off and distill. The designers are Top Shop Unique, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Peter Pilotto, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Antonio Berardi, Gareth Pugh, Burberry, Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson .

Color of 2017 is mango yellow, hemlines are uneven and flowing, prints were pressed pastel flowers or rave patterns. There are loose shapes for blouses and skirts.

Dresses are languid so structures and skintight is over and out. Street and high-low is the way to go for Spring-Summer 2017. Expect a return to the ’80s with New Wave shapes and flatform shoes.

It was so different from New York where many brands stuck to their signatures. Milan was so boring. I weep at the collection of Giorgio Armani now hemorrhaging  or imploding.

London was a melting pot of ideas where everything seemed up for discussion. Apart from the conundrum of future fashion, would you dare wear Christopher Kane’s Crocs?

Burberry’s mammoth see-now, buy-now show with 83 looks inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando signaled a new era in fashion. Yes, fashion’s new and bold era suggests you may purchase the garment right after the show.

This is a mega revolution initiated by Ralph Lauren and  Tommy Hilfiger. Yes, the expensive garments were first to sell. Fashion enters a brand-new century of direct client retail. Fashion is having an Uber moment. Change is coming. —CONTRIBUTED
