Dahlings! Let me tell you about this event when Solta Medical International Inc., an aesthetic devices company, handed Dr. Vicki Belo the first and only Black Diamond Award for being No. 1 in the practice of Thermage (nonsurgical facelift) and Fraxel (skin resurfacing) for 10 consecutive years.
Joining Belo at the event, held at the ballroom of Shangri-La at the Fort, were her celebrity endorsers Zsa Zsa Padilla, Alice Dixson and Ruffa Gutierrez, as well as her former husband Atom Henares, daughter Cristalle Henares-Pitt and partner Dr. Hayden Kho.
Also present were the Belo doctors who wore glamorous evening gowns to celebrate the milestone.
There was a lot of positive energy in the ballroom as everyone congratulated Dr. Belo and her team.
Vera Wang Manila opens
World-renowned bridal wear designer Vera Wang has opened her first boutique in Manila.
Her style appeals to brides of different generations because they blend the modern with the traditional. A number of Hollywood celebrities have chosen to wear Vera Wang on their special day, such as Victoria Beckham, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Duff and Lily Aldridge.
Located at 8 Rockwell, Rockwell Center, Makati, the Vera Wang store occupies 170 square meters and features a single-level shopping area.
Like her outposts in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Tokyo and Sydney, Vera Wang’s new store in Manila also carries eveningwear.
Describing the store, Vera Wang Manila consultant Samantha “Sam” Eduque said: “A contemporary look was created with the unique interpretation of graphite concrete floors, charcoal gray walls, etched glass doors and blackened steel design elements.
“The salon experience is about understated elegance, sophistication and modernity. It was designed to engage the bride and her family and friends with options through knowledge and service.”

Doña Elena cooking class
Top brand Doña Elena Olive Oil treated trade partners and lovers of olive oil like moi to a mouthwatering, fun-filled cooking class at the New World Manila Bay.
Executive chef James Williams and his kitchen team shared the recipes of two of Spain’s most revered dishes that can be recreated at home, Seafood Paella and the all-time favorite Gazpacho—both widely known for its distinct flavor using olive oil.
The event, hosted by blogger-actress and healthy food enthusiast Bianca King, emphasized “the importance of making smart choices when it comes to ingredients of our food.”
Since Doña Elena Olive Oil is harvested and bottled from Spain, it’s considered the world’s largest and most reputable source of olive oil in the world.
King said, “You can’t go wrong about its taste and quality. A combination of hojiblanca and picual olives, the concoction also amps up its health benefits: higher levels of good fats and antioxidants, plus 80 percent monounsaturated oleic acids that are good for the heart.”
Not content with serving the Seafood Paella and Gazpacho, a group called “Doña Elena cuisineras” added more olive oil-laden dishes for everyone.
The guests happily partook of Rabo de Toro or Spanish tail stew, and Navajas Al Ajillo or razor clam, with Doña Elena Olive Oil as its winning ingredient. The meal, washed down with fruity and refreshing sangria with Doña Elena wine, was excellent.
During the cooking class, Fly Ace Corp. president Jun Cochanco said that the secret behind the brand’s success is the company’s commitment to bringing the best food and beverages of the world to Filipinos. “We are proud to say that the overwhelming response from the Philippine market consistently places Doña Elena as the No. 1 olive oil in the country,” he noted.
