PEN to launch ‘Selected Poems of Jameson Ong’ | Lifestyle.INQ

The Philippine Center of the International PEN (Poets & Playwrights, Essayists, Novelists) will launch “Selected Poems of Jameson Ong in Trilingual” on Jan. 28 at Solidaridad Bookstore, P. Faura Street, Ermita, Manila.

Published in Hong Kong in September 2016, “Selected Poems” gathers representative 85 poems in Chinese of Ong written between 1985 and 2016, and translated into English and Filipino by Lourdes Lim Wang and Joaquin Sy.

The book contains a foreword by National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario, the new chair of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, who calls Ong “a foremost Chinese-Filipino poet.”

Jameson Ong is vice president of the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Association, secretary-general of the Philippine Soong Ching Ling Foundation, secretary-general of the Philippine Chinese Writers Association, and board member of Asia Pacific Pathways to Progress Foundation Inc.
