Now on its 47th year, the Women’s National Collegiate Athletics Association (WNCAA) is the country’s most prestigious sporting league for women. Known as a grassroots organization, the WNCAA is the only league that holds competitions for grade school, high school and college.

Aside from the usual roster of sporting events, cheerleading is a crowd favorite. Most of the high school teams that land in the Top 5 go on to compete in the UAAP (University Athletics Association of the Philippines) when they reach college.

In support of the WNCAA, To be You and its collegiate subsection, To be Ultimate, partner with Human, Vivo and Oishi to co-present the WNCAA cheerleading event on Feb. 25, 11:30 a.m., at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The cheerleading competition coincides with outgoing host school St. Jude Catholic School turning over this year’s hosting duties to Saint Pedro Poveda College.

The WNCAA is composed of 15 member schools: San Beda College Alabang, De La Salle Zobel, St. Scholastica’s College, Saint Jude Catholic School, St. Paul College Pasig, Saint Pedro Poveda College, University of Asia and the Pacific, Centro Escolar University, Assumption College San Lorenzo, Miriam College, St. Stephen High School, Angelicum College, Philippine Women’s University, La Salle College Antipolo and Chiang Kai Shek College.
