Surely you must’ve heard, palangga, that the hottest bridal show in town is #MarryMeAtMarriott by Marriott Hotel Manila. Prime movers in the wedding industry, most stylish influencers, media personalities from print and online, and soon-to-wed couples grace the annual event, unapologetically flooding social media with what you may have missed out.

Staged at the hotel’s grand ballroom, Marry Me at Marriott has become the country’s top bridal show for spectacles, sumptuous spreads and surprises that continue to get bigger and better each year.

The recent opening was a showstopper: a posh Mercedes-Benz SLC bridal car drove down the runway, portraying how every Marriott wedding could start with a grand entrance.

Even the last to drive down was a sleek Mercedes-Benz SLC convertible driven by Alden Richards.

Headlining the bridal show were famed local designers Avel Bacudio, Hannah Kong, Happy Andrada and Michael Leyva. Each of them showcased a unique style that any bride could associate with.

Maurice Arcache, Lorrie Reynoso

Among the models were celebrities and personalities who walked as muses: Anne Curtis, Lorin and Venice Gutierrez, Kathleena Tan (daughter of Kevin Tan), Aria Gutierrez (daughter of Elvis Gutierrez), Maricar Reyes-Poon, Tricia Gosingtian, Olympian Hidilyn Diaz, and Alden Richards.

The bridal collections exhibited how creative weddings at Marriott could be.

‘West Side Story’

After opening to a full house and standing ovations on its gala night, Broadway’s great dance musical “West Side Story” had a well-attended two-week Manila run which ended on Aug. 27 at The Theatre at Solaire.

For the grand opening night, Manille’s crème of the creamiest gathered at the lavish Solaire theater lobby for a night we would never forget. The Manila season of “West Side Story” is presented by Globe Live.

Featuring a young all-American cast, many of whom come direct from Broadway, “West Side Story” dazzled with the breathtaking choreography of Jerome Robbins coupled with the iconic music of Stephen Sondheim, set against the background of Shakespeare’s tragic “Romeo and Juliet.”

Kenneth Cobonpue, Richard Yap

It was everything you want in a classic musical.

Sondheim condensed the painful process of coming of age, passionate love and fateful conflict into concise and punchy song lyrics, creating a legacy of such endearing songs as “Maria,” “Tonight,” “Somewhere,” “America” and “I Feel Pretty.”

Major sponsor was Novuhair. Special thanks to Solaire Resort and Casino, OOCL, Victory Liner, Lyric Piano and Diamond Hotel. Media partners are 2nd Avenue, JackTV, Philippine Daily Inquirer, The Philippine Star, Preview, Mega Magazine, Ayala Malls, Bonifacio Global City, Fort Bonifacio Development Corp., Magic 89.9, 99.5 Play FM and Klite 103.5 FM; official makeup by MAC Cosmetics.
