Love knows when the time is right.
My hubby Dennis and I started dating, got engaged and were married within eight months. This month, we are celebrating our 24th on the 24th.
It has been 2.4 decades of happy memories, countless travels and four wonderful children, and now we are even more blessed to welcome the newest member of our family, Tinkay Crespo-Prieto, the new wife of our eldest son, Bryan.
In preparation for the first wedding in our family, I checked out several beauty exercises to help preserve my “mature” skin and look radiant as the mother of the groom.
As a start, I attended an exclusive Celavive spa party, which I cohosted with Usana ambassador and equestrienne Michelle Barrera. With us were the top echelon of Usana, including Duday Gaston and her Celavive ladies, all dressed in matching flight attendant outfits.
Usana’s InCelligence Technology has created a complete line of revolutionary skincare products with active ingredients that effectively hydrate and pamper our skin.
Celavive helps unlock our body’s power to defy visible aging. The skincare products support our skin’s natural renewal processes, delivering benefits that are unique to one’s individual beauty needs.
The nutrients and powerful peptides help support healthy, beauty-preserving functions within our skin to battle the most common signs of visual aging, including wrinkles and dryness.
Taking my personal beauty steps beyond just baby steps, I also visited SkinCell Advanced Aesthetic Clinics, one of our leading dermatology and aesthetic centers, to check out some of the treatments that are not only cutting-edge but also safe and highly effective.
Dr. Issa Cellona, lead dermatologist at SkinCell, saw a market niche in providing patients with treatment options tailored to their individual needs. Cellona was able to masterfully combine the science of dermatology with the artistry of aesthetics.
With SkinCell’s goal to achieve beauty through the most natural means, the aesthetics center uses a range of minimally invasive to noninvasive, FDA-approved technologies to help its patients enhance their appearance without putting their health at risk.
SkinCell clinics are the only licensed provider of the US-patented Time Machine procedure, a rejuvenating treatment that turns back the hands of time, effectively targeting signs of aging like wrinkles, eye bags, loss of volume, skin deterioration and sun damage, all in one single treatment.
Cellona recommended the new aesthetic injectable Xeomin to treat facial lines and wrinkles. This game-changing, minimally invasive treatment is pure and effective to ensure that SkinCell patients have less chances of creating resistance, making them look and feel young and beautiful without compromise.
SkinCell is an accredited partner clinic of Ultherapy, a noninvasive procedure that uses ultrasound technology to lift and tighten skin with natural-looking results. I’m all set to try Ultherapy next week!
SkinCell Advanced Aesthetic Clinics are at San Antonio Plaza in Forbes Park, New Bocobo Center Manila and Venice Grand Canal Mall. Visit www.skincellph.com and follow @skincellph on Instagram.
Trip to the Balkans
Among the numerous travels that hubby Dennis and I have done over our marriage, our trip to Croatia this year was truly one of the most memorable because of all the “Game of Thrones” locations we visited. We were able to take some dramatic photos in time for our silver wedding anniversary next year, for which I want to have a GoT theme.
In Croatia, we got to see the original locations that were the settings for King’s Landing, including where Queen Cersei did her walk of atonement.
I was impressed with how the GoT crew was able to cordon off the site for her naked trot; in contrast, our group had such a hard time getting all the photo bombers to stay away from our pictures, which we did in full costume.
There are more than a few other locations that GoT fans may want to check out with a trip to the Balkans. Corporate International Travel & Tours organizes tours designed for the individualized needs of diverse groups. A group tour is planned for Oct. 23-Nov. 5, including Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

‘Art of Luxury Travel’
Turkish Airlines graciously sponsored my Croatia trip and we were happy to reconnect with Turkish Airlines GM Erhan Balaban at the Philippine Tatler Traveller’s annual “Art of Luxury Travel” event at the Ballroom of Raffles and Fairmont Makati.
It was also the launch of the title’s awaited London issue with sisters Kylie and Kerry Tiñga as cover girls.
Tatler Traveller’s 13th volume, with a special two-cover edition, was revealed during the cocktail event.
Philippine Tatler managing director Irene Martel Francisco and Tatler Traveller editor Mia Borromeo welcomed guests, alongside David Batchelor of the hotel, and Rowell del Fierro of MasterCard.
The ballroom was decorated with destination-theme vignettes by acclaimed brands, Anya Resorts & Residences Tagaytay, Astoria Hotels and Resorts, Beauty Bar, Filigree by Filinvest, Hamilo Coast, Ideal Vision, Jewelmer, Marco Polo Ortigas, Manila Marriott Hotel, Nespresso, PAL Mabuhay Miles, Paul & Shark, Rustan’s The Beauty Source, Sunglass Haven, and Turkish Airlines.
The Art of Luxury Travel event featured a super raffle of prizes including stays in five-star properties and fashionable travel essentials. My fave prizes were a South Sea pearl from Jewelmer, a PAL Mabuhay Miles round-trip ticket to Macau and a Turkish Airlines round-trip ticket to any destination in Europe.
As with all Tatler events, the food was scrumptious, including renowned British cuisine, Middle Eastern delights and a fresh ceviche station. The bar was excellently stocked with The Botanist gin and artisanal craft beer by Engkanto Brewery.
Stay tuned for next week: the wedding!
