For many of us, the Christmas table is synonymous with abundance, joy and elegance. Everyone wants their table this Christmas to look extra special.

A little touch here and there would be great leading up to the big day. We suggest you start with the most visible part of your table—the napkin.

Here is a fancy-looking napkin achieved through folding or accessorizing that will make your table look special and festive without having to break the bank.

The basics here will give you that creative nudge, but the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Christmas tree napkin

We used a green napkin with a red border for you to better distinguish each step.

You will need: Square cloth or paper dinner napkin, measuring at least 17 x 17 inches

Step 1: Fold your napkin into a square.

Step 2: Fold the loose corners to the opposite corner, in gradual layers, to form your napkin into a triangle.

Step 3: Turn your triangle upside down.

Step 4: Fold the two outer corners toward the center, to the other side.

They should be folded over each other to reach the other side, forming the shape of a cone.

Step 5: Start folding out the exposed edges.

Optional: Add a Christmas ornament as an accent.
