Clean up your act with these beauty brands | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Every day, I aim to be a little bit more organic when it comes to beauty products I use. My routine is far from ideal, but I think it’s a good start.

I recently discovered Neal’s Yard Remedies’ line for moms and babies. It was Mother’s Day last May 12, but caring for yourself shouldn’t be a one-day thing.

Neal’s Yard has Mother’s Balm that’s good for stretch marks, and Mother’s Bath Oil with bergamot and ylang ylang which has a relaxing effect.

It also has selections for babies, including Organic Baby Powder, Organic Baby Soap, and Baby Barrier Cream. All of these make sure your baby is cared for with natural ingredients like beeswax, chamomile and shea butter.

Juice Beauty is a brand to try for skincare-driven organic makeup. The brand believes in vegan and cruelty-free practices.

Briogeo is all about parabenfree and crueltyfree hair care.

Go-to

For sensitive skin, go for the Phyto Pigment Flawless Serum Foundation. It contains hydrating coconut alkanes and antioxidants, so you get not only coverage, but skincare properties, as well.

A go-to for beauty products that give back to the environment is The Body Shop. You can easily update your skincare routine with its new releases that harness the best in nature.

An item of interest for me is the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Face Wash. It has bamboo charcoal from the Himalayan foothills, kaolin clay and community-trade tea tree oil from Kenya—all of which help cleanse pores and unclog their impurities.

RMS Beauty is Emma Watson-approved.

For hair, Briogeo seems to be a promising choice and a beauty vlogger pick. The company believes in clean and naturally derived ingredients. Its products are made without harsh sulfates, silicones or parabens. Plus, they are cruelty-free and ethically sourced.

What’s good about this brand is that it caters to various hair types and hair colors. It has the Curl Charisma line to nurture curly hair, and the Color Me Brilliant line to prevent color from fading while keeping the scalp nourished.

RMS Beauty is my final pick for this roundup. I love how even their packaging keeps the environment in mind as they used recycled glass and lids. Their ingredients are do-gooders as well, as they are GMO-, soy- and nano-free. They are also cruelty-free. You can go for a Emma Watson-approved Living Luminizer and Un-Cover Up concealer. Both let the skin breathe while giving you the results you need.

I hope these products help you shop a little cleaner and better for your skin and hair. Beauty isn’t only about looking good, it’s also about being more conscious of and caring for the planet.
