No really, what does it look like?
Last night, August 19, the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee presented their plans for the 30th SEA Games at the Olympic Council of Asia General Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia. Allan Peter Cayetano, Philippine Foreign Secretary and the chairman of the organizing committee for the 30th SEA Games, talked about a lot of things when he took the stage; things you can all watch on video here:
He saved the most interesting for last: The logo for the 30th SEA games. “Our logo will be the 11 circles bound together in the shape of the Philippines to symbolize that whenever and wherever the Games are played, we are one and we will as one,” the Philippine Foreign Secretary said towards the discerning audience, to no applause. And we’re not surprised, because what is that thing? We just heard what he said, but seriously, what is that?
And that’s not all. “The mascot formed from the 11 circles will be called ‘Fami,’ short for family or pamilya,” Cayetano adds. What is that thing? Looks like a graphic from the high school chemistry textbook?
A quick google search would show a different logo for the 2019 SEA Games. What caused the change? Who has the answers? Can someone help us?
