How Tiana Kocher is turning TikTok into a positive movement | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Being stuck at home can feel a little helpless. What do we turn to? Social media! It’s no surprise that the number of TikTok accounts went up so much and so quickly as we spend our days in self-isolation.

But what if we could utilize this unity through social media for a bigger impact?

Tiana Kocher, the upcoming singer-songwriter born in Manila, is leading this movement. And she’s right in the swing of things the way I see it.

Tiana is on a phenomenal run. In 2018, “Just My Type,” her debut single clued audiences into her potential. The single topped the Top 40 Indie Chart.

In 2019, she released “U Tried It.” The song was produced by Leon “RoccStar” Youngblood, who is a four-time GRAMMY-nominated record producer.

These days, the TikTok crowd is dancing along to “Don’t Trip.” Released this month, the song is just what you need to listen to when you want to take it easy and get those good vibes.

Tiana, like many of today’s youth, knows that there is strength in numbers. This is true even when we’re all at home and just gathering on social media. Just look at how quickly things can go viral.

She also shares in the frustrations of how being in this state can make us feel we can’t reach out and help. Combining these two emotions, Tiana came up with and launched the #donttripchallenge.

It’s something that should get you to be more active on TikTok for a good cause. You don’t need to do anything you haven’t done before for this. You’ll even have fun. You can even recruit the people you’re staying with.

The #donttripchallenge is open to residents of the Philippines and the United States.

All you need to do is to dance to Tiana’s “Don’t Trip.” You can follow Tiana’s choreography or do your own freestyle. Post it to your TikTok account but not before you tag five friends who you nominate to do the challenge. Of course, use the hashtags #donttripchallenge #stayhome #TianaKocher.

If chosen, you win a P2,500 gift card from Lazada while a P5,000 donation will be made in your name to the Philippine Red Cross.

US winners will get a $50 Amazon gift card while a donation of $100 will be made in your name to the American Red Cross.

Winners will be announced daily via @TianaKocher’s TikTok account.

I do really encourage you to join as it combines a lot of great intentions on social media: help online, join a movement of spreading good vibes and proving we can do something positive while at home.
