Kristina Knott, the Philippines’ representative in the 200-meter dash, ran her way to the gold as she finished first in the tournament today, Dec. 7, in New Clark City.

Knott finished in 23.07 seconds in the women’s 200-meter finals to surpass Zion Corrales-Nelson’s record of 23.01. The 24-year-old also edged out Vietnam’s Le Tu Chinh and Singapore’s Shanti Pareira to claim another gold for the Philippines.

Prior to the finals, Knott already set a new record after clocking in 23.07 in the preliminaries. Before Knott shattered her new record today, Corrales-Nelson’s 23.35 finish last year was the first to break the 33-year SEA Games record Lydia de Vega set in 1986.
