In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, NBA owners and executives are expecting the league to return by June.

This came right after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a recommendation that no sporting events or gatherings should have more than 50 people for at least the next eight weeks.

The NBA’s schedule has been drastically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic as the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs has been postponed. According to ESPN senior writer Adrian Wojnarowski, NBA commissioner Adam Silver plans to adjust the league’s scheduling format, venues and television situation in a way that would be suitable for all teams and players involved.

If the COVID-19 pandemic dies down in the next few months, the working plan for the NBA is to hold games without fans and play at smaller and nearby venues. However, there’s still a lot of uncertainty regarding this as more players and events continue to be affected by the global pandemic.
