MANILA, Philippines — Hours after a new Miss Universe Philippines was crowned, it appears that one of its candidates, Sandra Lemonon of Taguig City, was taking a swipe at someone with her cryptic Instagram posts.

In her first Instagram Story entry, Lemonon somehow dropped a bombshell that she was announcing “big news.”

Another Instagram Story of Lemonon also read: “The truth always comes out.”

“It’s just about timing. Karma is real. [Tea time] soon because we deserve justice,” she added.

But things somehow took a turn when Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup then posted something about accepting defeat.

Lemonon was among the pageant’s top 16 candidates.

“To bear defeat with dignity, to accept criticism with poise, to receive honors with humility — these are the marks of a true QUEEN,” Supsup said.

Minutes after Supsup’s post, Lemonon then had another story entry.

“Accepting defeat graciously is one of many mark of being a queen,” Lemonon said. “But what you forgot to say is that REAL queens play FAIR, don’t CHEAT.”

Lemonon soon became a trending topic on Twitter thanks to her post, with some netizens saying they want to know more.

Before Miss Universe Philippines 2020, Lemonon was named as fourth runner up in the Miss World Philippines 2016 pageant.

In 2018, Lemonon joined the Binibining Pilpinas pageant, where she was part of the Top 15.

Ilongga beauty Rabiya Mateo was named Miss Universe Philippines 2020 during the pageant’s pre-taped coronation ceremonies held at the Baguio Country Club’s Cordillera Convention Hall.
