Finding new uses for the bikes of the Pasig Bike Share program

In light of COVID-19, the Pasig City government is “repurposing” its bikes from the Pasig Bike Share program for government officials and healthcare professionals due to the suspension of public transport. The program is also accepting bike donations (old and new) to continue its services.

One reason why mayor Vico Sotto extended the program to frontliners is because of the struggle of exempted employees that go to work the past few days. Using bikes for transportation at this time is vital for the country especially for frontliners. Active transportation methods like bikes are recommended since exercise helps boost the immune system, reduces stress, and helps promote social distance.
