TV host-actress Karla Estrada has endured so many challenges in her journey of raising her four children all by herself.
Estrada spoke about these hardships she went though as a single mom via her Instagram page today, Nov. 11.
“Don’t feel sorry for single mothers. Instead, admire their strength,” she stated, as she also showed three photos, one with her children while they were still very young; a second photo with her daughter; and a third of herself alone and all smiles.
Estrada pointed out that there are lots of opinions against single moms, and sadly, most of these are nasty.
“Tayong lahat ay may sariling opinyon about the right way to raise a child and the right way to be a family. Tulad ng karamihan ng mga nanay, marami din akong natanggap na criticism tungkol sa pagpapalaki ng aking mga anak,” she said.
(We all have opinions about the right way to raise a child and the right way to be a family. Just like many moms, I also received lots of criticisms about the way I was raising my kids.)
As a mom, Estrada tried to fulfill all her duties to her children, making sure that even when she was alone and struggling with her own problems, she was present in their “[milestones], recital, success and heartbreak.”
“As a mother we have a duty to those we love to soldier on. Despite the doubt, I chose to keep fighting for and with my family with a smile. I never hid who I was or what my family was. Pinaka-importante sa akin na alam ng mga anak ko na nandito ang kanilang ina para sa kanila,” she said (The most important thing for me is that my children know that their mom is always here for them.)
Estrada encourages single moms to be the best moms that they can be.
“Kaya go lang [ng] go. Lahat ng pagod at hirap na pagdadaanan magbubunga rin,” she said. (Just keep going. All the effort and hardships will bear fruit.) JB
