For actress and animal lover Carla Abellana, educating the public about the humane process of treating animals is the best way to make the lives of these creatures normal.
Abellana spoke about animal welfare as can be seen in her Instagram page yesterday, June 9 where she posted photos of stray and sick dogs and cats.
“Education is the only way to break the cycle of animal cruelty, neglect and abuse,” she stated.
“@boholanimalrescueandkindness was informed by a concerned citizen about a situation along Mayacabac Road, Dauis and so they went and checked the place early morning today. This was what greeted them. No houses but garbage everywhere, the overwhelming stench of dead animals.”
She noted the condition of the “abandoned puppies with collars and kittens starving, dehydrated, emaciated, taking care of their siblings who were dead, almost giving up but waiting. Waiting for help.”
The group Bohol Animal Rescue and Kindness took the animals who showed signs of life and survival.
“One puppy is very weak. We hope he will make it through. Another is still in hiding in the area and they are still looking for him,” Abellana shared. She then advised everyone to be responsible pet owners.
“Have your pets spayed or neutered to avoid unwanted litters. Abandonment is a crime. It is heartless and cruel to abandon unwanted litter and just leave them to die,” she said.
With many abandoned, neglected and abused puppies and kittens under the group’s wing, Abellana asked concerned individuals to help the group.
“They need puppy wet food and help for their vet care. A little help goes a long way. You can send your help thru – or send them a message. BPI – 2059 228474, Paypal – [email protected] Gcash – 09271959007,” Abellana appealed. JB
