Actor John Estrada made a plea to those seeking public office after casting his vote yesterday.

Estrada is asking elected public officials to be responsible after being elected into office, as shown in his Instagram page on election day, May 9, where he shared a photo showing his finger marked with indelible ink, signifying he voted.

(To all the candidates, if you only knew how hard it is to vote, but people went out and endured.)

He was sorry to see the voting public queuing in long lines and suffering from the scorching heat. He even saw people who were sleeping while standing just so they could vote.

(I hope that when you get elected, you be true to your responsibilities.)

Appealing to the candidates’ conscience, Estrada added, “Hindi namin kayo hinalal para yumaman kayo at malunod sa kapangyarihan.” (We did not vote for you for you to become rich and drowning in power.)

(We voted for you because we believe that you are worthy to lead, serve, give opportunities for work and protect the people.)

“Konting konsensya lang. May awa ang Diyos sa bansa natin. [Good luck] sa inyong lahat and to GOD BE THE GLORY,” he said. (Please have a little conscience. May the Lord have mercy on our country. Good luck to all of you and to God be the Glory.) JB
