MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ representative to the Man of the World pageant, Nadim Elzein, took home two medals during the media presentation held at the Winford Manila Hotel and Casino on June 9.
Elzein took the gold in the “Press Favorite” poll, and bronze in the “Pre-arrival Favorite” selection.
But it was Ukriane’s Vladimir Grand who bagged the most citations in the evening. He topped the Pre-arrival Favorite selection, got silver in the Press Favorite poll, and received the “Mr. Fabularized Smile” award.
Tjardo Vollema from the Netherlands was also noticed. He was proclaimed Holiday Inn Express Man of Travel, and took the bronze in the Press Favorite poll.
Shiv Ramsander from South Africa got the silver in the Pre-arrival Favorite selection.
Twenty-four delegates are vying for the title currently held by Jinkyu Kim of Korea, the longest-reigning winner who assumed the title in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The delegates will also showcase Filipino culture in the swimwear competition. They will wear “bahag” to the contest, using indigenous Cordillera fabrics fashioned into a g-string appropriate for swimming.
The Bahag Swimwear Competition will be held at the Okada Manila Grand Ballroom tonight, June 11.
Baguio-based Rey-Casa Group of Companies is producing the global tilt’s fourth edition, which will highlight Cordillera culture. Most of the official activities will be held in Baguio, including the grand coronation night at the Baguio Convention Center on June 18.
The Man of the World pageant is organized by Manila-based Prime Event Production Philippines Foundation Inc.
